InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - As quoted from the study of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), there are at least eight successful keys of more responsible production program, they are, the first is, the stronger commitment from the producer countries on the land use and more responsible and fair plans to the environment, social, by focusing to stop deforestation and should be the same with the international commitments, and moratorium.
“This could be supported by making partnership among the governments, civil organizations, non-government organizations, the producers, the investors, and the banks,” IUCN noted as what InfoSAWIT got.
The second, the scientists need to create, increase the basic of effective evidence of in-situ certificate to perfect the criteria of certificate to be stronger and more effective in fulfilling the environmental and social targets among many systems of production and various stakeholder groups.
The third, the private sectors need to create more additional values from the certification by ensuring the producers could give maximal profits to the conservation (that is by preventing the expansion to the forest) but should give profits by improving the operational and decreasing the cost, increasing the markets and profits of the stakeholders. Every certification should be the logic for business. (T2)
