InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR – Ministry of Agriculture through General Directorate of Plantation attended the Crude Palm Oil Producer Countries (CPOPC) senior official meeting which runs for two days in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is about to make better relationship among the producer countries.
“For Indonesia, the meeting is very important and could contribute to increase the exports,” Secretary of General Directorate of Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture, Antarjo Dikin said, Tuesday (16/7/2019) in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.
Besides he continued, CPOPC is potential to increase the smallholders’ income, conquer the poverty, open the employment, and other business chances.
“This is the 18th meeting and the 7th meeting for the Ministerial Meeting (MM). Delegation of Indonesia was led by Coordinator Minister in Economy and Chairman of SOM and represented by Deputy of Food and Agriculture Coordination, Coordinator Ministry in Economy,” he said.
He continued that in the meeting, Indonesia emphasized that it is important to press the sustainability issue and the dangerous chemical threat from palm oil production.
But on the other hand, the meeting is also to struggle for the crude palm oil (CPO) price to be better and make the smallholders wealthier. In addition Indonesia is one big country within much production. “We want the smallholders to be better,” he said. (T2)
