InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) noted that the palm oil biodiesel absorption in the first semester of 2019 was impressive. In January – June 2019 it was absorbed about 3,29 million tons or increased 144% compared to in in the same period in 2018 that reached 1,35 million tons.
“The numbers showed that the B20 mandatory program run well in the Public Service Obligation (PSO) and non-PSO,” Executive Director of IPOA, Mukti Sardjono said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.
Until now the government is hoped to accelerate the B30 mandatory program which is still running the road test. The government is encouraged to expand the direct palm oil usage for PT. PLN.
“If every domestic program to absorb it runs well, Indonesia could reduce its dependence to the global markets,” he said.
From its price, in the first semester of 2019 the CPO was about US$ 492,5 - US$ 567,5 per metric ton within the average price reaching US$ 501,5 – US$ 556,5 per metric ton globally.
The crude palm oil production per June decreased 16% compared to it in May or from 4,73 million tons in May to be 3,98 million tons in June. While the CPO stocks in Indonesia in June were about 3,55 million tons. (T2)
