IPOA Urged to Develop Sustainable Palm Oil for the Global

InfoSAWIT, BOGOR – Vice General Secretary of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Agam Fatchurahman said that Indonesia as the biggest palm oil producer in the world has implement the sustainable principles and criteria based on Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) mandatorily and voluntarily in Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

He thought that the stakeholders have responded the issues that postpone palm oil industries and some of the issues have been solved though there are many are ahead globally.

“Palm oil hardly fulfills every food and non-food oil need. That is why it is blocked to develop in the global markets,” he said to the participants of The 1st Internasional Conference on Sustainable Plantation (ICSP), Tuesday, (20/8/2019) in Bogor where InfoSAWIT did attend.

It is important for the stakeholders to be together to solve every issue that postpones the palm oil trade globally. (T1)
