InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - For some sides, the palm oil biodiesel mandatory program could be the hope to get new market(s). In addition, Indonesia still needs 360 thousand barrels/day of fuel material. If every material for (fossil) fuel could be substituted by vegetable oil from palm oil, it could save the exchange.
One figure who notice the biodiesel industrial development in Indonesia is Paulus Tjakrawan. He is not the new man in palm oil industries nationally. He is the important figure to make policy in these industries.
In his chit-chat with InfoSAWIT recently, he said that the implementation of B20 up to the first quarter of 2019 reached 1,5 million kiloliters and there is no issue about the payment to run the program.
But Paulus continued, the biodiesel industries nationally face the trade barriers, such as, the anti-dumping accusation from United States of America (USA).
But the biodiesel stakeholders nationally do not let it happen. By the Trade Court in New York, they proved that the accusation is not the same as what the facts showed. (T2)
