Palm Oil Based Energy Development Accelerated

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - “The acceleration of biodiesel mixture from palm oil to fossil fuel, about 30% or famously known as B30 is running and PFMA supports it. The B20 program that runs until now could absorb CPO up to 6,2 million tons, and if B30 mandatory runs, there would be CPO absorption up to 3 million tons.

“The CPO absorption in this year reaches 6,2 million tons. By adding by the exports about 1 million tons, there are palm oil markets about 7 million tons. If the B30 runs, there would be new absorption about 3 million tons,” Director of Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency, Dono Boestami said in Jakarta where InfoSAWIT recently attended.

The renewable energy development, such as, green diesel successfully run in the laboratory scale and it was done in Kilang Dumai and Plaju. If it is in commerce, it would be done in Kilang Balongan and Cilacap.

The green diesel production would fulfill the stock nationally about 20 to 25 million kiloliter. “If it runs, the domestic needs would finish. The program is good for the people and would not disturb the businessmen,” he said.

Besides supporting the vegetable oil development, PFMA also encourages the downstream sector development, such as, the oleo-chemical industries and vegetable oil for PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

For information, it is predicted that CPO production nationally would increase. PFMA claimed that the CPO production and its derivative in 2017 reached 42 million tons. The numbers kept increasing in 2018 that reached 47,4 million tons.(T2)
