InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – By August 2019, the crude palm oil (CPO) exports from Indonesia reached 22,7 million tons or about 3,8% more than those in the same period in last year (2018). The CPO export volume in August was 1% smaller than it in July though the CPO average price in August 2019 was about US$ 40-50 more expensive than it in July.
The CPO export volume decreased 95 thousand tons which were compensated by the increasing exports of derivative products, reaching 90 thousand tons. China and India are still the main countries to export.
According to Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), the biggest increasing exports took place in China which reached about 150 thousand tons; Middle East which increased 110 thousand tons; and the United States of America which increased 90 thousand tons. The decreasing exports also took place in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and European Union.
Unfortunately in August 2019, the biodiesel exports decreased compared to July 2019, which reached from 187 thousand tons to be 162 thousand tons. There was no biodiesel export to European Union.
“CPO stock nationally by the end of August 2019 could increase to be 3,8 million tons or there are additional stocks up to 100 thousand tons from July stock. The numbers are the highest in this year,” Executive Director of IPOA, Mukti Sradjono said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (31/10/2019). (T2)
