InfoSAWIT, BANGKOK – In the 17th Annual Roundtable Conference on Sustainable Palm Oil (RT17) and the 16th Annual General Assembly (GA16), Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil urged to increase the cooperation among the stakeholders, such as, the processor, retailers, and traders to have the same responsibility to realize sustainable palm oil as the norm.
The conference within the theme “Tanggung Jawab Bersama: Mengubah Komitmen Menjadi Tindakan”, provided the right platform to activate the agreement which was recently inaugurated and should be implemented as the same responsibility for the members.
Though this is not the new one for RSPO, it is about to encourage the same responsibility to strengthen the Documents of Behavior to the members and expand the range of Principles and Criteria (P&C) 2018.
“By the new regulation to the same responsibility, I do hope that every member actively participate and work together to increase the sustainable palm oil demands within feed-back accountability in every supply chain,” CEO RSPO, Datuk Darrel Webber said to the journalists in Bangkok, Wednesday (6/11/2019).
Vice Chairman of RSPO, Dato Carl Bek-Nielsen said that the agreement of the same responsibility would be the balance to the downstream stakeholders to join it.
“Not only to promote sustainable palm oil, but it is important to increase the sustainable palm oil absorption. I do hope and would see this as the concrete in the wall. Without it, the wall could be falling down,” he said. (T2)
