InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The palm oil downstream industries in Indonesia are positive still. Asosiasi Produsen Oleokimia Indonesia (APOLIN) predicted that the downstream products in 15HS – base in 2019 could be 3 million tons.
In January to September 2019, the downstream product exports of 15 HS reached 2,3 million tons, or increased about 13% compared to those in 2018 which reached 2 million tons in the same period.
The downstream product value of it, according to Chairman of APOLIN, Rapolo Hutabarat, decreased a little bit compared to those in 2019 or about 22% or equal to US$ 1,4 billion compared in 2018 that reached US$ 1,8 billion. “This happened for the cheaper palm oil globally,” he said in the forum group discussion of APOLIN within the theme, “Spektrum Penggunaan Produk Oleochemical di Industri Strategis”, Tuesday (19/11/2019) in Jakarta.
