General Director of Plantation and Commission IV Directly Saw the SRP of KUD Bangkit Usaha Makmur

InfoSAWIT, ROKAN HULU – General Director of Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture Indonesia, Kasdi Subagyono and the member of Commission IV, Indonesian Legislators, Effendi Sianipar accompanied by Regent of Rokan Hulu (Rohul), H. Sukiman; Head of Plantation Agency, Riau Province, Feri Dwi Putra directly saw the result of smallholders replanting program (SRP) that Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) supported to KUD Bangkit Usaha Makmur in Village of Bencah Kusuma, Sub district of Kabun, Thursday, (5/12/2019).

In the visit, Kasdi appreciated the SRP implementation which becomes the national program since it started in 2018 in District of Rohul.

“In the future, it needs development and monitoring well to run SRP better and it is hoped that KUD Bangkit Usaha Makmur could be the role model to others,” he said as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT recently.

He also mentioned that besides getting the fund from PFMA, KUD Bangkit Usaha Makmur also succeeds to implement intercrop with the food plantation to support the alternative income for the smallholders (people) while waiting for the plantations are in fruit and producing.

“This is my first to see it in person after becoming the general director of plantation for about 10 months. The SRP runs well in Rohul and it is supported by mister Sukiman," he said.

The members of KUD Bangkit Usaha Makmur are happy to run the SRP program. Besides getting the fund help from PFMA, their fresh fruit bunch (FFB) is directly sold to the factory but they still could cultivate theirs independently.

The program is realized by the cooperation among PT Rohul Sawit Industri/RSI (BGA Group), KUD Bangkit Usaha Makmur, the local banks, and plantation agency. PT. RSI is obliged to buy the FFB and develops the agronomy technic based on the plantation standards but the smallholders and union could independently cultivate theirs. (T2)
