Palm Oil Industry: The Promising Business for the Young Generations

InfoSAWIT, BOGOR – On Thursday (23/1/2020) some members of Jaringan Indonesia Muda (JIM) did visit to the palm oil factory (POF) II of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) VIII. It was the monthly program of JIM to know more palm oil industries and the involvement of the young generations to palm oil industries.

Chairman of JIM, Arsyad Prayogi said that the event is about to get more knowledge. “And to get the business chance for the young generations in palm oil industries,” he said as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT recently.

The palm oil would produce liquid, solid, and gas waste. As the producer, PTPN VIII must have the big potential of waste. As the description, the empty bunches from each ton of fresh fruit bunch could be 23% but they are not well advantaged and the process is still about the ash and the mulch for the plantations. This could be the chance for the young generations.

“One thing that we could be in synergy with PTPN VIII is the empty bunch. The liquid waste could be processed to be compost, mushroom, cricket cultivation, and the making of helmet (from the empty bunch),” he said.

R Mubarik Ahmad as the head of POF II of PTPN VIII said that his side hoped that JIM could be the partner to process the waste. “We do hope that the young generations in Bogor could educate the people about the prospect and potential from palm oil industries,” he said. (T2)
