InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - It is admitted or not, palm oil and rubber are the strategic commodities in Central Kalimantan. The two determine the economic development in the province. If the two get cheaper price, the economy in the province would decrease too.
The crude palm oil (CPO) production in Central Kalimantan contributed about 20% of the total CPO production nationally. The facility of the factories in a whole in the province reached 6.955 tons of fresh fruit bunch (FFB) per hour. The CPO production reached 8 million tons if the palm kernel oil is calculated. But the statistic showed that it still reached 5 million tons.
In general, Head of Plantation Agency, Central Kalimantan Province, Rawing Rambang said, his side has tried to implement the sustainable palm oil cultivation and mapped the plantation commodity data since several years ago. “It is normal if the central government pointed Central Kalimantan as the pilot project of one map policy,” he said in a discussion which InfoSAWIT attended..
But based on the old year – experience, the improvement of governance of the plantation is hit by the synchronization, integration, and partisanship. “Many ministries and institution published the overlapping policies,” he said. (T2)
