Supply Chain Certificate is regulated

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) recently did many meetings during the public consultation to the get the Supply Chain Certification (SCC). This is to determine the condition in P&C RSPO and SCC system in many regions as part of the SCC review.

There are some good topics discussed during the public consultation about the conditions relating to the data transaction list that could be audited by the internal auditor; the certification cycle, and the auditor competency.

Besides, the interesting one is that the possibility to put in the same responsibility in the SCC standards (or in the separated document) that the organization which searches or holds SCC could implement.

During the public consultation, RSPO Secretariat did three direct meetings in Asia, one in Europe (in English), and two webinar in Spain and English. The meetings were joined by more than 200 participants.

The members of RSPO were asked to give feedback about the SCC standards and the plan system through online survey. From that, about 75 respondents gave 270 comments, 49 respondents gave 147 comments about the SCC system documents.

The main changes proposed in the SCC standards are the inclusion of relevant documents as the attachments; the definition would be increased more and put in; the amendment of public traceability condition which relates to the internal audit; the names of the factories; and the lists of transaction.
