InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Ministry of Trade, Agus Suparmanto keeps trying to increase the exports from Indonesia to the global. After the work visit to Australia and the United States of America, he would visit India to increase the trade cooperation and exports to India. It would be running on 19-21 February 2020.
"The work visit to India would be about discussing some issues, such as, the cooperation in the construction and connectivity; the housing and pharmacy; and the implementation of export and import from both countries,” he said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.
In the bilateral meeting with Minister of Industry, Trade, Train, India, H.E. Tuan Piyush Goyal said that the topics to discuss are the lates regulation in imports in Indonesia for raw sugar; the increasing market access from Indonesia to India; and the latest import regulation in India to palm oil; and some trade exports from Indonesia.
The other focuses are the third biennial trade minister forum (BTMF) meeting in Indonesia; the final process of term of reference on Working Group Trade and Investment (WGTI), and Working Group Trade Facilitation and Resolution (WGTFR).
In the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Agus would discuss the cooperation in hospital and pharmacy and the collaboration with the industries about conversing coal to gas. In the visit, he would invite the members of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and FICCI to take part in Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2020.
The total trade between Indonesia and India in 2019 reached US$ 16 billion. The exports from Indonesia to India in the same period reached US$ 11,78 billion and the imports of Indonesia from India reached US$ 4,29 billion. The surplus for Indonesia reached US$ 7,48 billion. (T2)
