InfoSAWIT, BOGOR – Until now the palm oil plantations are always the focuses to be discussed, namely about the labors. The conflicts about the labors may happen for the bad communication between the company and the labors.
Knowing this, the International Labor Organization (ILO) is in cooperation with the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) to make training in ‘How to Make Social Dialogue’.
Chairman in Labors, Central IPOA, Sumarjono Saragih said that the social dialogue becomes one model used to make the good communication with the labors. “The dialogue is effective to know the detail of a conflict but not everyone has this talent. That is why the training could be the solution,” he recently said.
He also said that the training involved three parts, they are, the government, the stakeholders, and the labors. They were trained in the same time within the same material, including the trainers of training. “It is hoped that there would be more having the skill of dialogue,” he said.
The training is in Bogor on 17 - 21 February 2020 within 31 participants in total – 20 are from the labors; 8 from IPOA and 3 from the government.
For information, ILO and IPOA in the last five years are the progressive partners to manage the labors in palm oil plantations which may hire about 16 million labors. (T2)
