after more than eight years, roundtable on sustainable palm oil (RSPO) exists to social and environmental palm oil practices. now the members of the organization should increase their commitment to realize the sustainable palm oil into actions.
More than 800 participants from many countries and industries that had something to do with palm oil attended and discussed to re-emphasize their sustainable commitments into actions.
The meeting urged to increase the cooperation among the producers from the upstream to the downstream sectors, including the processors, the retailers, and the traders to have the same responsibility to realize sustainable palm oil as the norm.
The event within the theme “Tanggung Jawab Bersama: Mengubah Komitmen Menjadi Tindakan”, gave the right platform to actualize the recent agreement and the regulation of the same responsibility for the members.
Though it is not the new concept for RSPO but it urges more same responsibility to strengthen the behavior guidance for the members and expand the range of Principles and Criteria (P&C) 2018.
This is the same vision with the Theory of Change (ToC) that RSPO adopted as the roadmap to show how the multi-stakeholder could realize the vision to be sustainable palm oil as the norm.
It is clear that the members, partners of RSPO, and others should support the vision so that RSPO could actualize the strategies and the key activity to transform the palm oil sectors.
Based on RSPO, the strategy here is to take the direct result in the form of the ‘more adoptable RSPO standards’, more transparent, and inclusive system
