CPO Exports Decreased to Hardly Exporter Countries in January 2020

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In January 2020, the crude palm oil (CPO) exports decreased to hardly exporter countries, such as, China reaching about 381 thousand tons (-57%), Europen Union reaching about 188 thousand tons (-30%), India reaching about 141 thousand tons (-22%), and the United States of America reaching about 129 thousand tons (-64%),

While Bangladesh increased the CPO export reaching about 40 thousand tons (+52%). The drastic decreasing exports in January might happen for the enough stocks in the CPO importer countries or they would probably wait for the B30 program that Indonesia would run.

The CPO production in January 2020 slightly increased to be 3,48 million tons compared to December 2019 production reaching about 3,45 million tons. The domestic consumption slightly increased from 1,45 million tons to be 1,47 million tons (+1,8%). The exports drastically decreased, from 3,72 million tons to be 2,39 million tons (-35,6%) only. “The decreasing exports were CPO, PKO, biodiesel, while the oleo-chemical increased 22,9%,” Executive Director of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Mukti Sardjono said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (26/3/2020).
