InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Every year, the multi-stakeholder organization, Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Indonesia does the program to increase the people’s awareness about eco-label product usage, namely to the youth.
Because of virus corona (Covid-19) pandemic like now, RSPO should do different thing in this year – the virtual talk show on 19 May 2020 called #SmartConsumer2020.
In that shot, Director of RSPO Indonesia, Tiur Rumondang told about “Peluang dan Tindakan Anak Muda Indonesia dalam Mewujudkan Minyak Sawit Berkelanjutan”. There were more than 200 participants from the youth, representatives of non-government organizations, the regional governments in Indonesia joining it.
The member of RSPO, Royal Ahold Delhaize (PT. Lion Super Indo) was one speaker in the talk show. They also urged the participants to make the better choice and eliminate the waste. “Next time when you are in a shop, take a look at the products that you would put into the trolley. Make sure that you select the eco-label products,” Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, PT. Lion Super Indo, D. Yuvlinda Susanta said as in the official page of RSPO.
During the session, many participants just heard eco-label products and they realized that the consumers play important roles to realize the sustainable development goals (SDGs). They actively questioned in the interactive session. According to RSPO, in the end of the show, the feed-back from the participants showed that 94% of the millennial consumers are ready to consume the sustainable products in Indonesia. (T2)
