Oil palm plantations in West Sumatra are believed to be safe from pandemics

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - According to the data from Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) West Sumatera, there are about 494,726 hectares of palm oil plantation in the province cultivated by 19 companies as the members of IPOA West Sumatera.  The people also cultivate the plantations.

Until now the plantations in the province have no issue and in control though the corona virus (Covid-19) still hits. But Chairman of IPOA West Sumatera, Bambang Wiguritno said that the stakeholders are aware of the situation there.

 

The operational protocols in the plantations that Central IPOA has arranged and instructed have been socialized and implemented in discipline. The protocols are using maskers, washing hands, limiting to go in and out of the plantations, and spraying disinfectant in some regions. (T2)
