InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Researcher of Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT), Indra Budi said that the mini factory construction needs lots of consideration. Furthermore, in the investment perspective, it is not too profitable. “But the mini factory could be the alternative in the certain areas, such as, the remote ones,” he recently said.
It is admitted that the investment to construct mini factory would be expensive that it in bigger scale but the numbers (of money) to spend are reachable. Having about 1.500 – 3.000 hectares, it could construct mini factory within 5 – 10 tons of fresh fruit bunch (FFB) per hour.
If the mini factory operates in the remote areas, the smallholders would be easier to sell their FFB in competitive price so that their income could be better. Besides, there would be empty husk as the waste from the factory that could be used as the organic fertilizer. (T2)
