InfoSAWIT, JAMBI – Palm oil plantation, PT Sari Aditya Loka (PT SAL) got two awards from General Director of Conservation of Natural Resource in Ecosystem, Ministry of Environment and Forestry; and Jambi Province. PT SAL contributed to develop Komunitas Adat Terpencil (KAT) Suku Anak Dalam (SAD).
PT SAL is one partners of Balai Taman Nasional Bukit Duabelas (TNBD) that got the awards by its dedication and cooperation to empower the economy, education, and health sectors of SAD or orang rimba in 2017 to 2020. “PT SAL is the extended family of Balai Taman Nasional Bukit Duabelas and very close to Balai TNBD,” Head of Balai TNBD, Haidir said.
Jambi Province gave the award to PT SAL because the company concerns about the social issues in the province.
For information, PT SAL runs its corporate social responsibility which directly attached to SAD in District of Sarolangun and Merangin. The subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk develops three major programs, such as, the education, health, and economy.
Every program is about to help the remote culture so that they could get access to the three sectors well. “We just want that Suku Anak Dalam could get their fulfillment well,” Community Development Officer (CDO) PT SAL, Thresa said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.
In education, PT SAL also facilitates the children of SAD to get school in the form of scholarship in formal education (elementary, junior high school, senior high school, and university), preparation schools, and functional literature programs. Besides, PT SAL developed physic and non-physic facilities to support every program.
In economy, PT SAL also developed some programs. “We develop kinds of business program to increase their economy by increasing the alternative income of SAD, such as, the regular rice help, agricultural learning centers, catfish and hen breeding, and also planting jernang,” Thresa said.
In health, the company did counseling of clean and healthy life style, health centers, check for pregnant female, family service, giving medicine, and additional food. “The people of SAD enjoy everything free of charge,” she said. (T2)
