Palm Oil Batik Could Increase the Absorption in Indonesia

PalmOilMagazine, JAKARTA – As the culture of Indonesia, batik is one inseparable part. The character and personality of Indonesia could be reflected in kinds of complexion done by the batik producers.

One best material to produce batik could use malam made of palm oil. As the environmental product it would be positive to realize sustainable development in Indonesia.

Director of Pusat Teknologi Agroindustri Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT), Arif Arianto told, palm oil has the big potential to be used as the renewable material to do batik.

“The process could use malam from palm oil and it is environmental,” he said in webinar that PalmOilMagazine did attend.

Using palm oil to do batik would help the batik producers nationally to produce environmental products. That is why malam should be produced from palm oil and everyone should support it.

Just like what Arif told, senior researcher of BPPT, Indra Budi mentioned that it needs to appreciate the support to produce malam. “If malam could be produced from palm oil, batik would be environmental and it would help batik producers in Indonesia,” he said. (T1)
