PalmOilMagazine, JAKARTA – Commission VI Indonesian Legislators and the government agreed the draft about Indonesia – EFTA Ratification of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IE-CEPA) and would be discussed in the session to be inaugurated as the Laws.
In the meeting with Commission VI Indonesian Legislators and the government in the hall of Indonesian Legislators, Jakarta, Monday (22/3), nine representatives of fraction fully supported and agreed to sign the drafts of IE-CEPA.
“The government needs to do strategic policy to face the global challenges with full of uncertainty, and urge to encourage economic recovery after Covid-19 pandemic. One thing to do is by IE – CEPA,” Minister of Trade Indonesian Republic, Muhammad Lutfi said, as in the official statement to PalmOilMagazine.
The members of EFTA are the ideal partners because they have good buying capability, and would invest in large numbers that are not maximally advantaged. They could be the way of trade in products, service, and investment in Europe, and become the potential export goals that complete one to another.
One symbolic interpretation from IE – CEPA Agreement to notice is that it could escalate palm oil product profile from Indonesia to the global. “In the future, we would assure that Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) could be sold in Swiss in the cooperation in IE – CEPA,” he said. (T2)
