PalmOilMagazine, JAKARTA – PT. Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk (DSNG) got profits in the first quarter of 2020 (Q1 – 2021) reaching Rp 99,3 billion, or increased 21% to the same period in last year. It was helped by the increasing palm oil price.
In Q1 – 2021, DSNG could sell up to Rp 1,64 billion, increased 3% compared to Q1 - 2020. The numbers increased from palm oil business reaching 83% or Rp 1,35 billion. 17% were from wood business reaching Rp 0,29 billion.
Palm oil selling in Q1 – 2021 happened for the increasing average crude palm oil (CPO) price reaching Rp 8,7 million per ton, though CPO selling volume to sell decreased 5% to be 135 thousand tons.
From the production in QI 2021, DSNG decreased CPO production about 6% to be 144 thousand tons from 153 thousand tons in the same period in 2020. It happened for the double impact consequence in Q1 - 2021, such as, (1) 12 month – decreasing production because of El Nino in QI – 2020, (2) the impact of La Nina since the last five months that there was much rain in East Kalimantan and postponed FFB evacuation from the plantation to the palm oil factory to be processed to be CPO.
In QI - 2021 DSNG increased wood products to sell reaching Rp 284,9 billion or increased 5% compared to QI - 2020. It happened for the increasing selling volume both in panel products, engineered flooring, and the better price of engineered flooring because of the better demands in the United States of America.
As in the official statement to PalmOilMagazine, Director of DSNG, Andrianto Oetomo is optimist that the targets in 2021 could be realized by the financial achievement in QI - 2021 which is better than it in QI - 2020. Besides Covid-19 vaccination both in our country and others in the world, the consumers believe that there would be economic recovery.
He also mentioned that DSNG would focus to sustainability concept and renewable energy in palm oil industry for there would be additional values for every stakeholder in the future. (T2)
