PalmOilMagazine, BALIKPAPAN - Apical Group, one sustainable palm oil exporter company officially handed over two schools to the Regional Government of Balikpapan. The two schools are in Teluk Waru, Kariangau, Balikpapan Barat .
Apical Group, one company joining Raja Garuda Emas (RGE) fully supports building of the two schools in Teluk Waru. It is built in the complex of the school which have class room, office of the teachers, office of principle, ways, car parks, and sport facilities.
Besides, Apical Group also takes Tanoto Foundation to help the capacity development of the teachers and principle, such as, Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) 021 Balikpapan Barat and Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri (SMPN) 21 Balikpapan which each has 102 and 72 students. Since 2018, Tanoto Foundation through Program PINTAR has been in partnership with Education Agency and Ministry of Religion of Balikpapan to increase the quality of teachers and principle with 24 schools.
In his speech, Mayor of Balikpapan, Rizal Effendi said, the people play important roles to support the initiatives. “This are the best gifts and the last ones for me in my end period as mayor. The schools are good for having the available infrastructures that could help the students to study,” he said, as in the official statement to PalmOilMagazine.
Meanwhile, Manager SSL Apical Group, Budi Jaya Arsa told that his side is fully committed to 5C philosophy which stands for community, country, climate, customer, and company.
“Today’s ceremonty showed the power and values of partnership between the public and the private to increase the people’s life around our operation in Balikpapan. We have goals to live side by side with our community and develop with them,” he said. (T2)
