Palmoilmagazine, JAKARTA – In the latest report, Asian Agri supported sustainable practices to increase smallholders’ life standards by conducting trainings, giving helps, and modern tools.
Asian Agri also provided sources of alternative income for smallholders when they will be about to end their plantation productivity and in replanting program. Until now, Asian Agri does partnership for more than 30 thousand smallholders and bring positive impacts to their life and deliver sustainable palm oil cultivation in Indonesia.
As in the official statement to palmoilmagazine, in 2020, as part of partnership commitment one on one, Asian Agri invested about US$ 2,7 million in smallholders’ partnership program. The numbers were about to fund 200 field experts, cash intensive to more qualified productivity, and premium sharing of sustainable palm oil in Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) certificates.
ASEAN RAI also published Responsible Investment Promotion Guidelines in Food, Agriculture, and Forestry, which is the regional contextual framework to confirm that private investment could reach the development targets and minimize negative impacts at once.
The guidelines were adopted by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry ASEAN (AMAF) in 2018. Grow Asia is multi-stakeholder platform with the goal to strengthen food security and sustainable agriculture in ASEAN. (T2)
