Palmoilmagazine, JAKARTA – After President Joko Widodo revoked crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative and palm cooking oil export ban, Thursday (19/5/2022), to follow up the policy, Friday (20/5/2022) Coordinator Ministry in Economy decided that for having bulk palm cooking oil supply that reached 211 thousand tons from monthly needs that reached 194 thousand tons, palm cooking oil export (12 HS) would be re-opened.
But to maintain the materials of palm cooking oil supply, Coordinator Minister in Economy, Airlangga Hartarto said, the government would implement domestic market obligation (DMO) and domestic price obligation (DPO) that Ministry of Trade would regulate. This is about to confirm that palm cooking oil should be available for about 10 million tons. 8 million tons would be as the supply while 2 million tons would be the stock, according to the analysis of Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan (BPKP).
“Ministry of Trade would decide the needs to be fulfilled by each producer and the mechanism to the people would really be done and right on target. Every producer that breaks the policy would get sanction based on the regulation,” Airlangga said in the press conference, Friday (20/5/2022) that Palmoilmagazine attended.
He also mentioned, to make sure the supply available, there would be monitoring in the digital application SIMIRAH. Palm cooking oil purchase would be based on ID. And the purchase should be right on target and the supply would be regulated by Ministry of Trade,” he said. (T2)
