Palmoilmagazine, NUSA DUA – In the 10th Ministers’ Summit of Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) Coordinator Minister in Economy Indonesian Republic, Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Commodity and Plantation Malaysia, Y.M. Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin told their support to election of CPOPC Secretary on 1 June 2022 to 31 May 2025.
Dr. Rizal Affandi Lukman is now officially as Executive Director; Datuk Nageeb Wahab as Deputy Executive Director; Dr. Puah Chiew We as Policy and Strategy Director; and Dr. Witjaksana Darmosarkoro as Sustainability and Smallholder Director. Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Yusof Basiron was also rewarded as Executive Director and Mr. Dupito D. Simamora as Deputy Executive Director of CPOPC since 1 June 2019 – 31 May 2022.
As in the official information to Palmoilmagazine, both the Government of Indonesia and Malaysia emphasized the same commitment to make sure advocacy of CPOPC would always run including advantaging every moment in G20 Presidency in Indonesia to accelerate the collaboration in many palm oil producing countries and related stakeholders.
To support the implementation of renewable policy, both countries agreed to consider escalate biofuel to be B35 in Indonesia and B20 in Malaysia to escalate the consumption.
The ministers’ summit was virtually attended by Observer Countries, such as, Vice Minister of Agriculture Colombia, Y.M. Mr. Juan Gonzalo Botero Botero; Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Honduras, Y.M. Madam Laura Suazo; and General Secretary of The Oil Palm Corporation (OPIC) that represented Papua New Guinea, Mr. Kepson Pupito. (T2)
