Palmoilmagazine, MEDAN – Though the five year - peak most expensive crude palm oil (CPO) price is over, it does not mean, palm oil plantations stop developing. The planting, in fact, is still running. The proof is that palm oil seed demands is still high which derived from one palm oil seed producers, Pusat Penelitian Kelapa Sawit (PPKS) Medan.
Marketing (PPKS) Medan, Irma said in January to June 2022, PPKS sold palm oil seeds up to 16.607.691.
She thought, compared to the previous year, the first semester selling was relatively the same with it in last year. “It only increased about 0,1% only,” she said to Palmoilmagazine, Wednesday (20/7/2022) in Medan.
In 2021, PPKS Medan sold those reaching 33.497.510 seeds. There were three mainstay varieties that independent smallholders bought the most, they were, PPKS Simalungun about 5,9 million seeds; PPKS 540 about 3,5 million seeds; and PPKS Yangambi about 3,4 million seeds.
Riau was the biggest seeds buyer in PPKS that reached 2,5 million seeds; then Jambi about 2,1 million seeds; and West Kalimantan about 1,8 million seeds. (T5)
