Palmoilmagazine, JAKARTA - The government has targets and programs to develop bio-energy to fulfill energy supply in sustainable and environmental – base. Besides, this is about to realize zero emission in 2060 within adequate portion through the energy procurement system nationally.
Chief of Surfactant and Bio-energy Research Center (SBRC), Institut Pertanian Bogor, Mayka Syahbana Rusli said, the government gets its progress to develop bio-ethanol but faces to the quite big work and challenges. “At least, one of them is about to fulfill new renewable use target which should be 23% in the energy procurement composition in 2025 in this country,” he said in online discussion that Palmoilmagazine recently joined.
It is admitted that the government got a lot to realize it, such as, by implementing biodiesel program which derives from fatty acid methyl ester (FAME). The government has developed bio-ethanol program, conducted Co Fairing at PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to maximize agricultural or plantation biomass wastes from energy plantations.
“Second generation – bio-ethanol use could be realized considering that Indonesia has got abundant material both from agriculture and plantation wastes. Everyone should support it so that second generation – bio-ethanol could develop fast,” he said. (T2)
