Palmoilmagazine, PEKANBARU – The training of cream soap and hand rub making process which was joined by female and creative economic actors from many districts and cities in Riau Province, locating at Karambia Cafe, Saturday (20/8/2022), was attended by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno and also Major in duty of Pekanbaru, Muflihun
Sandiaga Uno told, the people should also process palm oil waste to be micro, small, and medium business products, such as, hand sanitizer and cream soap. The materials could be from palm oil waste which has been extracted.
Sandiaga Uno mentioned, palm oil waste has the big potential to be processed and could escalate the people’s economy in Riau by producing products and other economic creativity because Riau Province has its natural resources. “If we could escalate human resources, economic independence would be better,” he said as Palmoilmagazine quoted from the official page of Riau Province recently. Riau itself is one most productive palm oil producer and the wastes are not optimally managed still.
In the training, the participants were trained by professionals to make cream soap and hand sanitizers. The materials of the two products were palm oil shell which had been extracted. The two products could be the needs of people namely after Covid-19 pandemic.
“Cream soap and hand sanitizer are mostly needed after pandemic. We should not import the soap but we have to use the power in Riau Province. We know, Pekanbaru is a town of service and trade and it could be distributed from here and would have big opportunity,” Sandiaga Uno mentioned.
Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy would help the permit process. Until now the ministry, Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM), and regional governments in Indonesia signed the cooperation to the marketing and the permits.
“We have signed memorandum of understanding with BPOM and regional governments so that the products produced by micro, small, and medium businesses should be put into the local e-catalogue. The products could be sold in this country and particularly in Riau itself,” he said.
Major in duty of Pekanbaru, Muflihun said, the training was about to deliver insight or new skills for the female and businessmen in Pekanbaru, and would deliver new employment to escalate the people’s economy.
“Hopefully the training would help the businesses to make their economic products by producing cream soap and hand rub and the economy itself could escalate,” he said. (T2)
