PALMOILMAGAZINE, YOGYAKARTA — PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk (SSMS) reaffirmed its role as a key driver of Indonesia’s palm oil industry transformation at the 2025 Palm Oil Technical Meeting (PTKS) held in Yogyakarta, July 16–17. SSMS actively participated as a major sponsor, exhibitor, and seminar speaker during the biennial event hosted by the Palm Oil Research Center (PPKS).

PTKS serves as a vital platform for researchers, industry practitioners, academics, and smallholders to exchange ideas and present innovations in palm oil cultivation. This year’s theme, “Technology and Innovation Transformation for Sustainable Palm Oil,” aligns closely with the industry’s challenges and forward-looking agenda.

A key highlight of the event was a presentation by Fizrul Indra Lubis, Head of SRS, titled “Planting Pattern Strategies to Optimize Fruit Set in Oil Palm: An Innovative Approach to Boost Productivity.” Fizrul emphasized the importance of data-driven planting strategies and the use of advanced technology to improve Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) yields without expanding land use.

“Field-based planting patterns help farmers and companies achieve higher yields more efficiently. This is one of the cornerstones of productive and sustainable palm oil,” Fizrul explained in a press release received by Palmoilmagazine.com on Thursday (July 17, 2025).

At the exhibition area, SSMS’s booth attracted visitors from diverse backgrounds. The company highlighted its research achievements, technological innovations, and best practices in plantation management — including precision fertilization, soil and water conservation, and community-based social initiatives.

PTKS 2025 drew more than 700 participants from over 200 institutions and featured 33 exhibitors offering technological solutions and innovations for advancing Indonesia’s palm oil sector. The enthusiasm among attendees reflected a growing interest in scientific and sustainable approaches to palm oil management.

SSMS’s presence at the event went beyond showcasing technology. It underscored the company’s collaborative spirit in building a stronger national palm oil ecosystem. Andre Taufan, SSMS Corporate Communication Manager, emphasized the importance of synergy between the business sector and research institutions.

“Our collaboration with PPKS aims to deliver real benefits to communities through the palm oil industry. We’re also committed to advancing knowledge and technology together through joint research,” Andre stated.

By integrating research, innovation, and sustainability practices, SSMS is positioning itself as a pioneer in shaping a greener, more inclusive, and globally competitive palm oil industry. PTKS 2025 provided the perfect stage to reinforce that commitment. (P2)
