PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — PT PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk (Lonsum) posted a solid financial performance in the first half of 2025, despite facing agribusiness sector challenges such as commodity price volatility, unpredictable weather, and global uncertainties.

In its interim consolidated financial report for the six-month period ending June 30, 2025, Lonsum recorded sales of IDR 2.32 trillion, up 29% compared to the same period last year, driven primarily by higher average selling prices for palm oil products.

While fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production from nucleus estates declined 2% to 505,000 tons, total crude palm oil (CPO) output rose 6% year-on-year to 130,000 tons, supported by increased supply from external sources.

This growth boosted profitability, with gross profit jumping 54% to IDR 926 billion and operating profit rising 17% to IDR 715 billion. Net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company reached IDR 714 billion, an increase of 19% from the first half of 2024. Core profit also saw impressive growth of 54%, reaching IDR 791 billion.

Notably, by the end of June 2025, Lonsum had no bank borrowings, reflecting a strong and healthy financial structure.

Lonsum President Director, Tan Agustinus Dermawan, emphasized that this positive performance was the result of the company’s consistent focus on efficiency and sustainability strategies.

“Throughout the first half of 2025, Lonsum maintained a positive trajectory despite industry headwinds. We remain focused on cost control, operational efficiency, and selective capital investments, while continuing to boost productivity and uphold sustainable farming practices,” Tan said in an official statement, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com on Thursday (Aug. 7, 2025).
