PFMA Signed MoU of Palm Oil Plantation Human Resource with 24 Institutions

PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) has entered into a memorandum of understanding for the Palm Oil Plantation Human Resource Development Program in 2023. This MoU encompasses collaboration with a total of 24 institutions, including 13 educational institutions and 11 training institutions.

  13. Institut Teknologi Perkebunan Pelalawan

While the training institutions are PT. LPP Agro Nusantara, PT. Global Scholarship Service (IPBTraining), Akademi Komunitas Perkebunan Yogyakarta (AKPY), PT. Best Planter Indonesia, PT. Sumberdaya Indonesia Berjaya, Balai Besar Pelatihan Manajemen dan Kepemimpinan Pertanian (BBPMKP) Ciawi, Balai Pelatihan Pertanian Jambi, PT. Citra Widya Education, PT. Forestcitra Sejahtera (Mutu Institute), PT. Iskol Agridaya Internasional, PT. Daya Guna Lestari.

Director of PFMA, Eddy Abdurrachman approved the fund support for the 13 educational institutions within multiyear program that starts from Diploma (D)1, D2, D3, D4, and undergraduate (S1) program for 2000 students to get scholarship. While fund support for 11 training institutions would spend Rp 46,5 billion of cooperation that covered 3.241 participants.

Eddy also said, palm oil plantation human resource development program is important to realize sustainable palm oil industries and escalate palm oil plantation productivity. It is the main pillar and one program that PFMA focuses on in the strategic plans besides other programs to get upstream to downstream sector development.

“In the upstream sector, besides palm oil plantation human resource development program, PFMA also has other strategic programs, such as, smallholders replanting program. In the downstream sector, the other programs are, research and development, biodiesel, promotion and advocacy program,” he said, as in the official statement to Palmoilmagazine.com, Wednesday (2/8/2023).

The challenges to realize targets in national level in 2023 is that crude palm oil (CPO) production that should be reaching 60 million tons. This is difficult and needs to develop palm oil planation human resources by escalating their knowledge, skill, professionalism, independency, competition, technical capability, management, and entrepreneurship.

Palm oil human resource development program should prepare the mainstay planters to escalate their welfare in specific, and increase palm oil plantation industries sustainably by escalating plantation productivity in Indonesia in general. (T2)
