PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – General Director of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture, Andi Nur Alam Syah, attended the 9-day reflection ceremony of the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Jakarta.
During the event, he urged all participants to consider it a special occasion that would inspire spirit and collaboration for the future of palm oil plantations in Indonesia.
“Congratulations on the 9th anniversary to PFMA. I hope this institution continues to progress and serves our planters effectively. The programs implemented by PFMA should run smoothly, and palm oil holds promise as the future of our nation. The presence of PFMA is always meaningful for our planters,” he remarked, as reported by Palmoilmagazine.com based on information from the official General Directorate of Plantations page on Monday, June 18, 2024.
In the same chance, Director of PFMA, Eddy Abdurrachman emphasized that it would be significant to escalate the performance, governance, and human resources in palm oil sectors. He thought, nowadays condition showed the increasing demands in this country on palm oil products, namely to fulfill biodiesel.
“PFMA has its functions to fund the smallholders’ plantations, namely in replanting program. Besides, we do collaborate with the government, including Ministry of Agriculture through General Directorate of Plantations, universities, and other related parties. We also deliver scholarship program and other trainings to be useful for planters (and their families) to manage their plantation better and fulfill biodiesel needs,” Eddy said.
He continued palm oil downstream program should be kept being developed and escalated. “It is not only about crude palm oil (CPO) to get exports but its other derivative products,” he said.
Evita Legowo, Chairman of Supervisory Board of PFMA also said that biodiesel would be significant to minimize diesel imports and would deliver solution for cleaner fuel. “It would need the same synergy both from the governments, planters, industries, and the private sectors. We have to do it together. According to our functions and duties, we would help to supervise the management and the organization to implement every program in PFMA and it would smooth our work to deliver advantages for everyone that deals with palm oil sectors and this nation,” she said.
