PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA or BPDPKS) has once again opened the 2025 Palm Oil Research Competition for Students, aiming to encourage research and development in the sustainable palm oil sector. This program provides an opportunity for undergraduate and diploma students from universities across Indonesia to contribute through scientific research.

According to an official letter reviewed by Palmoilmagazine.com on Tuesday (January 28, 2025), PFMA announced that proposal submissions for the competition are open until March 31, 2025. Students can submit their proposals through https://lombariset.bpdp.or.id.

This initiative is designed to help students apply their academic knowledge to practical research, supporting the goal of establishing a more sustainable Indonesian palm oil industry.

In announcement number PENG-1/DPKS/2025, PFMA outlined seven priority research areas eligible for proposal submissions:

  1. Land/Soil/Seeds/Cultivation
  2. Post-Harvest/Processing
  3. Bio-materials/Oleochemicals
  4. Food/Health
  5. Waste Management/Environment
  6. Bioenergy
  7. Social/Economics/Business Management/Markets/ICT

“Proposed research topics should consider cost-effectiveness and potential industry implementation,” PFMA stated in the announcement.
