PALMOILMAGAZINE, PENAJAM – The Plantation Agency of East Kalimantan Province recently distributed palm oil seeds, fertilizers (sodium, phosphorus, and potassium), and herbicides to two smallholder groups in Penajam Paser Utara Regency.
This support, provided from September 10 to 12, 2024, in Rintik Village, Kelurahan Sepan, Babulu Sub-district, underscores the agency’s commitment to enhancing smallholder plantations.
Ence Achmad Rafiddin Rizal, Head of the Plantation Agency, stated that this assistance is part of the government’s program to boost smallholders’ plantation productivity and improve their welfare.
“We hope this support will enhance their plantation productivity and make their results more competitive,” Rizal said, as reported by Palmoilmagazine.com on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
He also highlighted the importance of synergy between the government and smallholders to foster sustainable palm oil plantations. This aligns with the government’s vision of advancing the agriculture and plantation sectors as key economic pillars in the province.
One smallholder that got the helps, Hj. Aisyah, the Chairman of Kelompok Tani Karya Usaha in the Village of Rintik thanked for the supports from the government. Her group, that cultivated about 25 hectares, got 3.250 palm oil seeds; 2.500 kilograms of fertilizers, and 125 liters of herbicides. The helps would escalate their plantation productivity and would contribute to plantation development in the village.
East Kalimantan Plantation Agency emphasized its commitment to support develop the agriculture to get the province go forward and welfare the smallholders. The helps would be the significant encouragement to escalate their plantation productivity and quality to compete in many markets. (P2)
