PALMOILMAGAZINE, PALANGKARAYA — The Forum of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil Farmers (FORTASBI) continues to strengthen youth engagement in sustainable palm oil education. Through a training program titled “Engaging Young Content Creators to Educate Generation Z on Independent Smallholders and Sustainable Palm Oil,” held in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, on September 25–27, 2025, 18 young participants from across Indonesia showcased their creativity and enthusiasm in promoting sustainable palm oil through digital media.

Participants came from diverse regions including Aceh, North Sumatra, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, West Kalimantan, Jambi, and Central Kalimantan. Over the course of the workshop, they produced 36 creative digital works with varied perspectives and storytelling — ranging from inspiring stories of independent smallholders to educational content on environmentally friendly plantation practices.

According to FORTASBI’s statement published by Palmoilmagazine.com on Monday (October 20, 2025), two outstanding creators were selected from the group: Hikmah Yani Chaniago from Subulussalam, Aceh, and Nabillah Nissya Fadhilah from Yogyakarta. They will represent Indonesia and FORTASBI as ambassadors at YOUth @RT2025, a new initiative by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) that, for the first time, brings together young leaders from around the world to participate in the annual Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil Conference (RT2025) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from November 3–5, 2025.

The RT Conference is a global platform that gathers RSPO members, industry stakeholders, academics, and civil society organizations to discuss trends, innovations, and challenges in the sustainable palm oil sector. This year, RSPO introduces YOUth @RT2025 as a dedicated space for young people to engage directly, exchange ideas, and build networks with industry leaders to foster a more inclusive and resilient palm oil future.

The YOUth @RT2025 program features 30 young participants aged 18–35 from various countries, including students, young professionals, innovators, and activists working in sustainable agriculture, climate action, and environmental protection. The participants will gain hands-on experience through discussions, workshops, and cross-country collaborations.

FORTASBI expressed pride in the selection of these two young ambassadors. “We hope Hikmah and Nabillah’s participation at YOUth @RT2025 will inspire more young Indonesians to learn about and contribute to the development of sustainable palm oil,” FORTASBI said in an official statement.

Through this initiative, FORTASBI reaffirms its commitment to bridging the gap between independent smallholders and the younger generation, ensuring that Indonesia’s palm oil narrative goes beyond production — highlighting sustainability, innovation, and an inclusive green future. (P2)
