Yayasan Santo Antonius in Papua has started developing the Palm Oil Department

PALMOILMAGAZINE, MERAUKE – South Papua Province, Merauke Regency, has a Polytechnic developed by the Yayasan Santo Antonius (Yasanto). Named Yasanto Polytechnic, it is located on Missi II Street, Merauke Regency.

Yasanto Polytechnic focuses on agriculture for the Papuan youth. At the end of the year 2022, Yasanto Polytechnic successfully graduated 107 students with a Diploma III degree.

According to the Director of Yasanto Polytechnic, Beatrix Anna Maria Rahawarin, the polytechnic’s presence needs to be continuously developed, including the addition of new study programs. One of the challenges is the need for qualified instructors to open these new programs. Currently, the existing study programs include Crop Cultivation, Animal Husbandry, and Fishery Technology.

According to Beatrix, the establishment of new study programs is necessary in line with the development of agriculture and plantations in the South Papua Province, Merauke Regency. She believes that a Palm Oil program can be part of the growth of the palm oil industry in the South Papua Province, Merauke Regency.
