BPDP collaborated with five Indonesian industry associations at Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 to promote palm oil, coconut and cocoa commodities, strengthen international trade partnerships, and expand global market access. The agency also received third place in the Best Booth competition.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, TANGERANG — Indonesia’s Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) used the 2026 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) to expand international promotion of the country’s plantation commodities and strengthen access to global markets. Through its promotional booth at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang, from October 14–18, 2026, BPDP showcased its role and support in developing Indonesia’s plantation industry from upstream production to downstream processing.
According to BPDP, the agency collaborated with five industry associations at the international trade exhibition: the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI), the Indonesian Biofuel Producers Association (Aprobi), the Indonesian Oleochemical Producers Association (APOLIN), the Indonesian Coconut Processing Industry Association (HIPKI), and the Indonesian Cocoa Industry Association (Askindo).

The collaboration formed part of broader efforts to strengthen synergies between BPDP and industry stakeholders in promoting the potential of Indonesia’s plantation commodities to international buyers and business partners.
A key highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Chinese business representatives and three Indonesian industry associations: GAPKI, HIPKI, and Askindo. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Indonesia’s Minister of Trade.
The agreement marked an important step toward strengthening business relations and opening up new trade cooperation opportunities between Indonesian companies and international partners.

BPDP Promotes Collaboration and Market Expansion
Aida Fitria, Head of BPDP’s Cooperation and Institutional Affairs Division, said the agency’s participation in TEI 2026 was part of its strategy to expand promotion of the plantation industry while strengthening collaboration among stakeholders.
“Through Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, BPDP seeks to introduce its various programs and support for the development of Indonesia’s plantation industry while bringing stakeholders together to create broader opportunities for cooperation. Collaboration with industry associations is essential to ensure that the potential of Indonesia’s plantation commodities, including palm oil, coconut, and cocoa, becomes more widely recognized and gains access to broader markets,” Aida said.

She added that the participation of industry associations at BPDP’s booth was expected to strengthen communication about the potential of Indonesia’s plantation sector. This included upstream development, value addition through downstream processing, and investment and trade opportunities in global markets.
The synergy between BPDP, industry associations, and businesses is also expected to broaden the reach of promotional efforts for Indonesian plantation commodities. The goal is to ensure that opportunities identified during the exhibition translate into concrete business partnerships rather than ending with the event itself.

TEI is one of Indonesia’s major international trade promotion events, bringing together domestic businesses, overseas buyers, and international business partners. For the plantation industry, the exhibition provides a platform to showcase products, explore partnerships, and identify market and investment opportunities.
Through its participation in TEI 2026, BPDP reaffirmed its commitment to supporting an integrated plantation industry ecosystem and enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian products in global markets.
BPDP hopes the collaborations established during the exhibition will develop into tangible partnerships that create added value for Indonesia’s plantation industry while delivering greater economic benefits to the country’s smallholder farmers. (A3)
