Palm Oil Magazine - CPO Prices Climb at KPBN Inacom, Malaysian Market Extends Gains on Wednesday (May 28)

PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom rose by 1.02% on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, reaching IDR 13,315/kg. This marks an increase of IDR 135/kg compared to Tuesday’s (May 27, 2025) price of IDR 13,180/kg.

According to information obtained by Palmoilmagazine.com from KPBN, the Franco Belawan & Dumai CPO price was set at IDR 13,315/kg. Meanwhile, Loco Pelaihari CPO opened at IDR 12,761/kg but was withdrawn (WD) after the highest bid reached only IDR 12,288/kg.

Quoting Reuters, Malaysian palm oil futures also strengthened on Wednesday (May 28, 2025), recording gains for the fourth consecutive session. The upward trend was driven by short covering and support from the vegetable oil market in Dalian, China.

During the midday break, the benchmark August 2025 CPO futures contract on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange (FCPOc3) increased by RM25 or about 0.65%, settling at RM3,893 per metric ton (approximately USD 917.73).

Additionally, the Malaysian ringgit remained stable, providing a favorable trading environment. However, the soybean oil markets in North and South America offered no clear directional signals, said Anilkumar Bagani, Head of Research at Sunvin Group, a Mumbai-based vegetable oil brokerage firm.

In international markets, the most actively traded soybean oil contract in Dalian (DBYcv1) posted a slight increase of 0.05%, while palm oil contracts (DCPcv1) rose more sharply by 0.95%. On the Chicago Board of Trade (BOcv1), soybean oil prices edged up by 0.04%.
