North Sumatra Sets Higher Palm Oil FFB Prices for March 4–10, 2026

PALMOILMAGAZINE, Medan – The price of palm oil Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) in North Sumatra recorded an increase for the March 4–10, 2026 pricing period. The provincial FFB pricing team agreed to raise the price for oil palm trees aged 10–20 years by IDR 21.18 per kilogram, bringing it to IDR 3,593.33/kg.

In the same pricing period, the crude palm oil (CPO) reference price was set at IDR 14,278.19/kg, while the palm kernel price stood at IDR 13,343.09/kg, with the K index recorded at 92.54%, reflecting the calculation basis used in determining FFB prices in the province.

Based on data collected by Palmoilmagazine.com from the North Sumatra Plantation and Livestock Agency, FFB prices vary depending on the age of the oil palm tree.For younger plantations, the price for 3-year-old trees was set at IDR 3,031.15/kg, while 4-year-old trees reached IDR 3,232.40/kg. Prices for 5-year-old palms were recorded at IDR 3,343.93/kg, followed by IDR 3,441.71/kg for 6-year-old trees.

Meanwhile, the price for 7-year-old palms stood at IDR 3,412.35/kg, while 8-year-old trees reached IDR 3,532.66/kg. For 9-year-old plantations, the price was set at IDR 3,564.35/kg.

The highest commonly referenced category—10 to 20-year-old oil palm trees—was priced at IDR 3,593.33/kg during this period.

For older plantations, the price for 21-year-old palms was recorded at IDR 3,598.47/kg, followed by IDR 3,565.80/kg for 22-year-old trees. Prices then gradually declined to IDR 3,514.85/kg for 23-year-old palms, IDR 3,407.66/kg for 24-year-old trees, and IDR 3,309.19/kg for 25-year-old plantations.

For trees aged 26 years, the price was set at IDR 3,283.48/kg, while 27-year-old palms were priced at IDR 3,235.65/kg. Prices continued to decrease slightly to IDR 3,185.18/kg for 28-year-old plantations, IDR 3,133.30/kg for 29-year-old trees, and IDR 3,081.43/kg for 30-year-old palms. (P2)
