“This partnership is a great opportunity. Itera, now 10 years old, has built a strong strategic relationship with PT BGA. I hope this will inspire both lecturers and students,” he said, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from Itera’s official page on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

During the lecture, Dr. Azis Natawijaya from PT BGA highlighted the importance of maintaining the sustainability of palm oil production in Indonesia. He noted that while palm oil is the most productive vegetable oil, innovations in planting materials, production monitoring, and improving the quality of crude palm oil (CPO) are essential.

The Q&A session saw enthusiastic participation, with Yeni Kurnia, a Bio-system Engineering student at Itera, asking about ways to maintain both the quality and quantity of palm oil production.

Azis said it needed to emphasize the standards of work, environment awareness, and technology implementation. These would be the keys to face the challenges.

The cooperation between Itera and PT BGA should increase not only the qualified HR that would be competing in palm oil industries, but also encourage research and innovation that would be useful for the people and the industries. (P2)
