PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Commission VII member of the Indonesian legislature from Fraksi PKS, Mulyanto, highlighted concerns about unethical practices within the government. He emphasized the necessity for transparency and accountability in managing national resources, particularly regarding mining permits and palm oil business rights.
Mulyanto further urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (CEC) to investigate Minister of Investment and Head of Investment Coordination Agency, Bahlil Lahadalia. Bahlil is suspected of abusing his authority by arbitrarily revoking and reactivating mining permits and palm oil plantation business rights in various regions of Indonesia.
According to Mulyanto, Bahlil’s actions in revoking and reissuing permits may be influenced by financial incentives, potentially involving significant sums of money or shares in related companies. Mulyanto stressed the importance of a CEC investigation into Bahlil to uphold justice and enforce the law.

As Palmoilmagazine.com quoted from the official page of PKS, Monday (4/3/3024), Mulyanto thought there are job abuses between Ministry of Investment and Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resource. He said the authority that should be dominantly dealt by Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, particularly in mining, was taken over by Ministry of Investment. This showed inconsistency and potential to raise conflict of interest and would be the loss for mining ecosystem in national scale.
He also thought the task force establishment led by Bahlil, namely heading to president election 2024 was suspicious. The task force might be part of legal act to get fund in political interests. This also threatens the sovereignty in natural resource advantages.
It means, Mulyanto was sorry for non-ethical practices in the government. It needs firm action to confirm integrity and transparency in natural resource cultivation nationally. (T2)
