PALMOILMAGAZINE, BANDUNG – Siemens Indonesia has officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Tbk. (PT SMART Tbk.), a leading Indonesian agribusiness established in 1962, known for its “seed-to-shelf” approach.

This strategic partnership aims to support PT SMART Tbk.’s digital transformation, enhancing product efficiency, quality, and competitiveness, while also contributing to the government’s goals of food and energy self-sufficiency over the next four to five years.

The MoU was signed at the Sheraton Hotel Bandung, in the presence of Surya Fitri, President Director and CEO of Siemens Indonesia, and Herriadie Mochtar, Head of Engineering and Project Management at PT SMART Tbk. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to implementing technology and developing skills within PT SMART Tbk.

In her speech, Surya Fitri emphasized Siemens’ commitment to helping PT SMART Tbk. accelerate its digital transformation in preparation for the challenges of Industry 4.0. “As a technology partner, we believe that digital transformation will enhance customer experiences and align with market preferences,” she said in an official statement to Palmoilmagazine.com on Monday (28/10/2024).

Siemens will provide strategic guidance and a digital roadmap, including business analysis, data solutions, and consultations to support PT SMART Tbk.’s transformation objectives.

The MoU itself managed some major sectors to get the strategic collaboration, such as, data and business insight exchange to help PT SMART Tbk., to digitally transform, providing consultation and roadmap comprehensively that would cover the development test and project in phase, the chances to increase the (workers’) skills through SITRAIN from Siemens which the goal would be about to train the engineers and technician in PT SMART Tbk., to know the digital development in the company.

Herriadie Mochtar thought the roadmap would be the guidelines to expand and reinforce the competition of the company sustainably. “With the supports from Siemens, we are optimist that the digital transformation would support our trade and competition, and would contribute to food security and sustainability in Indonesia,” he said. The cooperation should inspire to escalate sustainable and responsible businesses in agribusiness sectors.

By the initiative, PT SMART Tbk., hoped to accelerate the goals of the company to promote innovative technology and would positively deliver impacts for the people and environment. (P2)
