PALMOILMAGAZINE, SAMARINDA – The price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) of oil palm in East Kalimantan continued to increase in the period of December 1-15, 2024. This increase is a continuation of the positive trend in the previous period, driven by the increase in Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and kernel (palm kernel) prices. This condition provides fresh air for oil palm farmers in the region.
Head of the East Kalimantan Plantation Agency, Ence Achmad Rafiddin Rizal, explained that the weighted price of CPO reached Rp 14,416.96 per kilogram, while kernels were priced at an average of Rp 9,662.49 per kilogram, with a K index of 89.46 percent.
Rizal also detailed the price of palm oil FFB based on the age of the plant. The following is the price list for the period December 1-15, 2024:
- 3 years old: IDR 2,865.15 per kg
- 4 years old: IDR 3,057.39 per kg
- 5-year age: IDR 3,074.22 per kg
- 6 years old: IDR 3,106.93 per kg
- 7 years old: IDR 3,125.44 per kg
- 8 years old: IDR 3,149.10 per kg

- 10 years old: IDR 3,251.96 per kg
“This price list applies to plasma farmers who have partnered with companies that own palm oil mills (PKS) in East Kalimantan. This cooperation aims to ensure that the price of FFB received by farmers is in accordance with the standard, so that there will be no more price games by middlemen,” Rizal explained in his official statement, quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com, Thursday (19/12/2024).
According to Rizal, the increase in the price of oil palm FFB has a direct impact on improving the welfare of farmers. With stable and favorable prices, plasma farmers are expected to earn better incomes, strengthening the oil palm plantation sector as a pillar of the regional economy.
He also emphasized the importance of cooperation between farmer groups and palm oil mills. With this partnership, farmers are guaranteed a fair price, while improving the efficiency of crop distribution. (P2)
