North Sumatra FFB Palm Prices Climb in Late January–Early February Period

PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN – Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) prices for oil palm growers in North Sumatra increased during the pricing period of January 28 to February 3, 2026, following the latest decision by the provincial pricing team. For palms aged 10–20 years, the FFB price rose by IDR 116.67 per kg to IDR 3,634.28 per kg.

Data compiled from the North Sumatra Plantation and Livestock Agency show that prices strengthened across most age categories. FFB prices were set at IDR 2,816.14 per kg for three-year-old palms and IDR 3,083.67 per kg for four-year-old palms. Prices continued to climb for five-year-old palms at IDR 3,266.42 per kg, six-year-old palms at IDR 3,358.88 per kg, and seven-year-old palms at IDR 3,389.05 per kg.

For older plantings, eight-year-old palms were priced at IDR 3,479.64 per kg, while nine-year-old palms reached IDR 3,545.20 per kg. The peak price remained in the 10–20 year age bracket at IDR 3,634.28 per kg. Meanwhile, prices for palms aged 21 years stood at IDR 3,626.96 per kg, easing to IDR 3,578.99 per kg for 22-year-old palms and IDR 3,543.36 per kg for 23-year-old palms.

Further declines were recorded for older trees, with 24-year-old palms priced at IDR 3,425.50 per kg and 25-year-old palms at IDR 3,319.97 per kg.

In the same pricing determination, the benchmark crude palm oil (CPO) price was set at IDR 14,766.60 per kg, while palm kernel was priced at IDR 12,265.75 per kg, with an index K of 92.81 percent. The higher reference prices supported the upward adjustment in FFB prices for the period. (P2)
