North Sumatra FFB Prices Rise to IDR 3,881.83/kg for July 1–7, 2026 Pricing Period

PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN – Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for oil palm growers in North Sumatra increased during the July 1–7, 2026 pricing period, with plantations aged 10–20 years—considered the most productive—reaching IDR 3,881.83 per kilogram, up IDR 100.74/kg from the previous pricing period.

The latest pricing decision was approved by the North Sumatra Provincial FFB Pricing Team, reflecting stronger returns for smallholders as palm oil market fundamentals remain supportive.

For the current period, the reference price of crude palm oil (CPO) was set at IDR 15,427.33/kg, while palm kernel was priced at IDR 13,334.13/kg. The K Index, a key component used in calculating FFB prices, was established at 93.76%.

According to data compiled by Palmoilmagazine.com from the North Sumatra Plantation and Livestock Agency, FFB prices across different plantation ages are as follows: 3-year-old palms at IDR 3,267.21/kg, 4 years at IDR 3,483.37/kg, 5 years at IDR 3,604.55/kg, 6 years at IDR 3,711.59/kg, 7 years at IDR 3,686.86/kg, and 8 years at IDR 3,814.00/kg.

Meanwhile, FFB from 9-year-old palms was priced at IDR 3,850.21/kg, 10–20-year-old palms at IDR 3,881.83/kg, 21 years at IDR 3,885.73/kg, 22 years at IDR 3,848.86/kg, 23 years at IDR 3,795.32/kg, 24 years at IDR 3,677.76/kg, and 25 years at IDR 3,569.15/kg.

Older plantations also continued to post prices above IDR 3,300/kg, with 26-year-old palms priced at IDR 3,540.29/kg, 27 years at IDR 3,487.63/kg, 28 years at IDR 3,432.08/kg, 29 years at IDR 3,374.88/kg, and 30 years at IDR 3,317.68/kg.

The increase in North Sumatra’s FFB prices is expected to provide additional income for oil palm growers, particularly those managing plantations in their peak productive years, while reinforcing the province’s position as one of Indonesia’s major palm oil producing regions. (P2)
