Nine-Year Palms Record Highest Price

Nine-year-old palms recorded the highest FFB price among independent smallholders during the period, at IDR 3,834.39/kg.

The rate was slightly higher than the price for eight-year-old palms at IDR 3,821.31/kg and the IDR 3,793.05/kg set for palms aged 10–20 years.

The decline in FFB prices was in line with changes in the market components used in the pricing formula. The CPO price was set at IDR 15,658.99/kg, while palm kernel stood at IDR 13,145.12/kg.

The K Index for the August 19–25, 2026 pricing period was set at 93.34%. Meanwhile, the shell value was set at IDR 24.76/kg and was included as one of the components in the FFB price calculation.

CPO and Kernel Remain Key Drivers

The Riau FFB price serves as a reference for purchases from independent smallholders during the August 19–25 period.

Movements in CPO and palm kernel prices in the next pricing cycle will remain important factors in determining the direction of Riau’s FFB prices.

For smallholders, changes in these components will continue to influence the official FFB benchmark, making market developments in CPO and palm kernel prices important indicators ahead of the next pricing determination. (P2)
