PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – On Thursday, October 3, 2024, the Attorney General’s Special Crimes team conducted an investigation at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MEF) as part of an inquiry into alleged corruption related to palm oil governance from 2016 to 2024.
Harli Siregar, Head of Public Relations for the Attorney General’s Office, provided updates to reporters about the investigation. “The Special Crimes investigation team is conducting law enforcement activities at the MEF office,” Siregar stated, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from Kompas on Friday, October 4, 2024.
He noted that the investigation aims to uncover more information regarding the allegations of corruption in palm oil plantation governance, but he did not disclose any findings from the investigation at this time. “We cannot provide details yet,” Siregar said.

He also clarified that this investigation is separate from any corruption or money laundering cases involving PT Duta Palma, confirming that it is a new inquiry being pursued by the Attorney General’s Office.
The investigation multiplied the long lists – investigation about corruption assumption in palm oil plantation sectors that many discussed about.
